Frequently asked questions
What is DataLikers?
DataLikers is a developer platform for Instagram and TikTok data at scale. Three product surfaces share one cache: a fast REST Cache API, an MCP Server for AI assistants like Claude, and ready-made downloadable datasets.
What's the difference between Cache API, MCP Server, and Datasets?
Cache API is for code that needs structured Instagram or TikTok JSON on demand. MCP Server lets Claude or any MCP-compatible AI assistant query the same data in natural language. Datasets are pre-built CSV/Parquet exports for research, ML training, and analytics. All three pull from the same data layer, same pricing.
What kind of Instagram and TikTok data can I access?
User profiles (including biography, follower counts, and contact details when public), posts, reels, stories, comments, hashtag feeds, music tracks, and search. Coverage is symmetric across Instagram and TikTok.
Do I need a developer account at Instagram or TikTok?
No. There is no OAuth, no app review, no platform agreement. Get an API key after registration and start sending requests immediately.
How is pricing structured?
Pay-per-request, starting from $0.0003 per call on the Cache API. Same per-row pricing on MCP and Datasets. No subscription, no monthly minimum, balance never expires. Successful responses are billed; server-side errors are free.
Can I use DataLikers from Claude, Cursor, or other AI assistants?
Yes. Our official MCP server datalikers-mcp is published on npm and exposes Instagram and TikTok tools to any MCP-compatible AI assistant — Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, Zed, Windsurf — auto-generated from the OpenAPI spec. Same API key, same billing as Cache API.
How fresh is the cached data?
Most public data is refreshed automatically when requested. For high-traffic profiles freshness is typically minutes-to-hours. The cache layer absorbs platform rate limits so you do not see them.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts get free trial requests after registration and Telegram verification — enough to test all three product surfaces (Cache API, MCP, Datasets) before committing to a plan.
